Still sore everywhere

My favourite black vinegar trotter, yellow wine chicken and bokchoy today for lunch. Finished all the food today with hubs cause we have dinner plans.

Milk drunk.

Still not in my best mood. There’s still a lot of soreness around my stitch and trapped wind is a real bi**h. And breastfeeding still sends my uterus into a crazy spasm. Urgh.

Why we changed Lily’s paediatrician

We have changed Lily’s assigned paediatrician to Liam’s paediatrician and I am so glad we made the decision to do so. Today at her first checkup, her new paediatrician confirmed our suspicion that her newborn jaundice was so mild it didn’t even warrant treatment under the photolight and can resolve by itself.

If I remember correctly her level was 140 on her 2nd day of life and her assigned paediatrician then, via a nurse mind you, not himself, informed us that Lily needed photolight treatment so we stayed an extra day at the hospital.

The next day, her level went down to 126, and I thought we could go home finally but again, I had to be informed by a nurse that Lily couldn’t be discharged yet cause she still needed more photolight.

I asked her where’s the doctor cause I would like to speak to him and find out more but instead she was surprised to learn we haven’t seen him for two days straight. The only time I had seen him was once, after I gave birth, where by the way, he also mentioned possibility of jaundice and possibility of supplementing Lily with formula during photolight *red flags*.

Anyway, after I was told by the nurse that Lily was staying another day despite her jaundice coming down, I was determined to change paediatrician so Gareth asked for a change and guess what, 10 minutes later this paediatrician turned up at my room and informed us that Lily could go home afterall.

So what was the nurse doing earlier telling me we couldn’t go home yet?? Anyway I wasn’t going to pursue the issue because we were changing the paediatrician anyway, I just smiled and nodded while he talked but as soon as he was gone, we made an appointment with her new paediatrician for her follow-up appointment.

Anyway, she has reached her birth weight and then somemore…an extra 200gms in 10 days woohoo. Everything is fine, her eyes are fine, skin is fine, arms and legs fine, lungs are fine, no jaundice….the only thing not fine is we forgot to clean the inside of her mouth daily so she has milky mouth 😂

  1. Hi Kim, not sure if you heard about porcupine bezoar powder? It’s a TCM remedy, very pricey for less than 1 gram dosage. I took this after my c section and not sure if it’s placebo effect but I don’t have the soreness you are experiencing now. Maybe u can try?

      1. Ya that’s it! It is used to treat even cancer! Apparently if u r having major surgery, it’s recommended to take one dose before and then after surgery another dose. One dose ranges between 300 to 500 depending on Chinese medical shop…

  2. That paed is 😤😤 can’t believe he didn’t even bother to see you and update you guys about it. Sending the nurse wtf. I honestly think some paed Wana play it safe and just say need phototherapy. Both Hana and Kei were quite yellow at the start but my paed told me it’s normal and since I’m bf, he said to keep bf and wait about a week. Both of them never needed phototherapy. Although, I did panic a bit cause they were quite yellow at a point hahahahahahaa hope you feel better soon,Kim 😘 love milk drunk Lily 😍😍
